NYE with STP!!!
HAPPY 2009, my devoted Weiland-going orbs of awesomeness!
As the title indicates, I spent my NYE at the STP show in downtown LA @ Club Nokia. Above is my personalized STP VIP area photo-booth shot. It was free and the elevator operator said that, “I had to do it.” Don’t hate, I was intrigued.
The Color Turning opened the show around 8:55pm and rocked as usual. STP went on around 10:40ish and f’ing rocked the 2009 princess hats off everyone!!! This was one of the best STP shows I had ever seen. Even Dion (a die hard STP fan who travels around the US to see STP) said that this was one of the best shows of the year. Scott sounded well rested, full toned, and just badass!!! Everyone in the crowd was rocking out hard. Some a little too hard. But, what’s a rock concert without a brawl here and there?
At 12am 2009, balloons dropped from the ceiling and STP blasted in the new year with, “Sex Type Thing.” So dope. Then STP played another song or so and then encored with “Dead & Bloated,” and “Trippin’ on a Hole.”
All and all, it was a fantastic show. I got a chance to speak to some awesome fans and rocked out in the pit the entire night. Another thing: I love watching Robert play. He gets so into his bass playing and has one of the best stage presence I have ever seen in a bass player. Also, he threw out like 10+ picks throughout the course of the night. So rad (as Arik our sound engineer would say).
To close I give you a few pictures I took from the show and to wish you a healthy, prosperous, and “Happy” 2009!!!! Make it a passionate year.

I wanted to go to that show SOOOOO badly! Glad it was amazing…. Scott is.. .. there are just way too many words….

I too did not get to attend! boo hoo. However jerzeyjoyce attended the January 2, 2009 show in Vegas and she too said it was awesome! Best show she has seen so far. But she also got to meet Dean so that may have helped a little! lol Haha! I know the best show I went to was at the Borgata when i got to meet Dean and that helped a little too!! Sometimes when you get to meet one of them, it kinda makes up your mind as which show is the best for now!

I thought the NYE Show kicked maximum ass!! But i heard from a few die hards that they thought Scott didn’t sound his best, and i said “Nuts to that!” i thought they were awesome! The Las Vegas Show was to me, one of the best i have seen them play so far!! i was flooored!!! so much STP, so little time!!!!

STP NYE…what a great experience!
The weather in LA was PERFECT, and I was totally amped to see the fellas wrap up their ‘08 touring season.
Like akirr said, the show was amazing…easily one of the best of the year.
Opening with Silvergun got the crowd moving, and we stayed moving for two whole hours!
Great pics man! I got a few myself, I’d be happy to share if you’re interested…
Can’t wait to see Scott back in action next week in KC playing his solo tunes!
